MAME cabinet build, January 2017
It all started when…
I used to sneak into Dad’s garage and scurry back to my bedroom closet, pockets full of switches, washers and other parts I needed for my craft projects. Somehow, he always knew. Add a few years, a love of math, science, computers and problem solving and… now I’m a mechanical engineer! I genuinely love the process of sitting down and designing parts. I dive into data analysis. And I can’t get enough of sharing engineering with other students and young women - it’s my favorite thing.
When I’m not building things, I’m a competitive masters rower. I found rowing in 2017 after a few years of casual running wasn’t filling the hole left after collegiate volleyball was done. Now I’m a rowing addict. I set the Women’s Novice record in 2018 at the Atlanta Erg Sprints, and had the fastest 2018 Women’s Marathon Erg time on the Concept 2 site. Now I’m working on translating that speed to the water. I am also a volunteer coach for the Belmont Rowing Center and hold the US Rowing Level 2 coaching certification.
